8 weeks to go...

Here is a pic of me at 32 weeks on Christmas Eve in front of our tree. We had a verey nice, low-key Christmas. My parents came to visit us and we had a good time just chilling out at our place. My crib arrived, with help from a co-worker's husband's help on the 27th. We are grateful to have such nice people here to lend a helping hand (or pick-up truck). Sean will hopefully assemble the crib in the next few days without any problems. Sean got me something for Christmas (well, he says it's from Maeve) to hang above the crib that says "Always Kiss Me Goodnight". One we have our nursery put together, I will post pics. My mom hopes to have the bedding done in time for my baby shower here on January 17th.
I am still feeling pretty good. My dr gave me a prescription for the horrible heartburn and acid reflux I had been suffering from and have not had any heartburn since taking the pills daily.I am starting to feel (and look)huge and am finding that simple things like getting a full night's sleep and bending over are not as easy as they once were. I figure that the lack of sleep is just preparation of what is yet to come!! We are anxiously anticipating our little girl's arrival and can't wait to meet her!!! I can't believe we only have 8 more weeks to go!!! I am sure that the time will fly and she will be here in no time!!

Crib and dresser

This is the crib and dresser that my parents are so generous to get for us. My mom is making the cutest bedding ever!!!My mom and I picked out the fabric over Thanksgiving and desgined it ourselves. It will be purple and butterflies (of course!!). I can't wait to see the finished product at Christmas!!

Kickin' it....

While laying on my back in bed this morning, the baby was moving around. I put my hand on my belly and I felt her kick my hand. I told Sean to put his hand on my belly and she kicked him. It was by far the strongest kick I've felt so far and I SAW my belly move as she kicked his hand. It was the weirdest, but coolest thing. She sure loves her daddy!!!
She also got her first gift from Mom Mom and Pop Pop yesterday!!Yep, the grandparents are already spoiling her!!! They got her 2 pink and white bibs:one that says "I Love Mommy" and one that says "I Love Daddy" and a cute little pink outfit that says "Sweet Girl" on it. She should be a sweet girl for all of the fruit I have been craving and eating!!!

21 Week Ultrasound-It's a.....

We had our 21 week Ultrasound on Friday and we got to see sooo much more than we did at 10 weeks. It was amazing!!! We got to see the baby's brain, heart(with all 4 chambers, along with bloodflow), kidneys, spine, stomach, bladder, fingers, toes (10 each)and cute little profile. We had said that we didn't want to find out the sex of the baby, but Sean had a pretty good view and figured it out when the tech scanned over the baby's legs. Sean didn't think it would be fair for him to have figured it out and not tell me,and the tech confirmed that he was right...WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!! And like her Dad, she is already a huge Phillies fan!!! And like her MOM, she also likes to talk, as we were able to see her open and close her mouth twice (swallowing amniotic fluid, but it looked like she was talking). We got to see her playing with her feet and toes, too!!
The tech said "unofficially" that everything looked good and I will know more when I meet with my DR next week. We are just happy that she looks good and is moving around. Now that I've seen her moving, I have realized that I have been feeling her move for a few weeks and just didn't know that what I was feeling was actually her!!

Progress

Photobucket
10 Weeks
17 weeks
and last week at 17 weeks
I feel like none of my coworkers look me in the eye anymore...they are all staring at my bump!! I get a lot of comments about how cute my belly looks, so I guess I can't complain and I know it's not fat!!!
I'm 18 weeks now and have not felt the baby move yet, but I am hoping to feel it any day now!! They say you should feel the baby move sometime between weeks 16 and 20. I still feel really good and my only complaint is that my allergies have been driving me crazy!!!! I can take Claritin, which works for awhile.
I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and should have another ultrasound in the next few weeks. I can't wait to see what our little one looks like now...much less like a gummi bear and more human!!!
I'll post the latest ultrasound as soon as I have it!!!

Baby's Heartbeat

I had another doctor's appointment today and I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat...loud and clear!!! It was amazing!! I called Sean so he could hear it too. The baby's heartbeat is by far one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard!!!!

1st OB appt and Ultrasound

Our first OB appointment and ultrasound went well. We were not able to hear the baby's heartbeat, but we did get to see it during the ultrasound. We even got to see the baby move around.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking about for a nursery theme!!

Perfect!!! I know that my mom can make something similar to this and we can get some of the accent stuff from Babies R Us!!!

Nursery Ideas

Here are some ideas that I found online:
I love this mobile!!

I like the colors in this nursery...close to what I was thinking...

Since we are NOT going to find out the sex of the baby, we are going to decorate the nursery in green and dark brown. I was thinking of an "earthy" themed room with leaves, trees and birds (Our poor kid has a tree-hugging mom!!!) My momis going to make the crib bumper and I'm sure she has some other ideas of things that she would like to make (I am hoping to help her make them too)

Feeling good!!!

So, I have not posted in almost a month (has it been that long already??). I am now 9 weeks into my pregnancy and here's what's been going on...
Morning sickness:
Not much at all. I had a migrane that made me feel naseaus for 2 days, but after I took some Tylenol, I felt sooo much better!!! Now as long as I don't have an empty stomach, I feel fine.No really icky feelings at all!!!
-Fatigue-Thank GOD I am not working right now and I have the luxury of taking little cat naps when I feel tired!!!! About 4:00pm, I hit the wall and I am exhausted. In the past week, I have been fighting off the urge to nap so that I don't fall into that habit. Then I will really be in trouble when I go back to work in 2 weeks!!
Bloating:
UH!!! My pants are already getting a little snug in the waist. They fit a week ago, and now my 2 favorite pairs of shorts are digging into my waist when I put them on :(. Sean's cousin Laurey even said "Oh look, you even have a little baby bump!!" when I saw her 2 weeks ago. I had to correct her and say "No, I'm just fat and bloated!!"
Maternity Clothes:
Due to the bloat, I went shopping for some maternity clothes yesterday and got some great deals on some cute clothes. I figured that I can wear some of the stuff by the time I go back to school and then some.
Doctor's Appointment:
My fist OB appointment is next Tuesday. I meet with my OB/GYN at 8:30 and have an ultrasound scheduled for 11:45. I hope that Sean doesn't go crazy while waiting around all that time!!! I have a feeling that I will have a lot of paperwork to fill out and I will be sent for bloodwork before the ultrasound! I am so excited about the ultrasound!!! I will get to see my little peanut for the first time!!! I will post the ultrasound pic next week, if my scanner decides to cooperate!!!

Preventative Measures

Sean gave me these beautiful flowers the other day, for no reason. I think that it might have been a preventative measure since my first pregnancy symptom is showing it's ugly head.....MOOD SWINGS!!!!!! I looked at daycares the other day and had a horrible experience with the first one that I went to, so that stressed me out for the rest of the day. Sean got me these flowers and when I told him that I was craving the garlic bread from Portabello's, he was nice enough to take me out to dinner, too!! I am soo lucky to have such a wonderful person to share this experience with. Sean, on the other hand, may beg to differ. I promised him today that I would not go crazy and I made a point to not do anything that would make me stressed out. So, I have done nothing today but watch movies and take cat naps. I must say, I am very happy to have most of my 1st trimester off and can *try* to take it easy.

Overwhelmed with Information

I bought these 2 books on pregnancy today-one for me, one for Sean. WOW!!! There's soooo much to learn about being pregnant. I find it interesting to learn about what is going to happen to me and the baby week-by-week. But it is a lot of information to take in at once!! The book that I got for Sean is hilarious and I have laughed out loud several times just by skimming through it!!! I hope that Sean appreciates the humor!!!
I looked at maternity clothes at Old Navy today. They have some really cute maternity clothes and CHEAP too!!! I bought a pair of velour "hang out pants" for $2.97 and a white tunic for $11.99. In about 2 months, I will definately buy more clothes there!! I have no idea what's going to fit then, so I didn't want to buy anything too soon and not be able to return it later. For now, I am going to enjoy fitting into my regular clothes and being able to see my feet when I look down!!!

I AM GOING TO BE A MOMMY!!!!!!!!

I went to the doctor today and confirmed that I AM PREGNANT!!! I am about 5 weeks along and my tentative due date is February 20th. Sean and I are THRILLED and can't wait to be parents!!!
We have so much to do (buying a house tops the list of major things to do right now), so it's good that we found out so soon. I feel fine...no morning sickness...YET. I feel a little bit more tired, but I work with 5 and 6 year olds all day-of course I am tired!!! I am off for the next month and I am going to take it easy, read a bunch of books, and enjoy the peace and quiet that comes from being away from work for awhile.
I have my first OB appointment July 29th and I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat!! It still seems so surreal!!! I can't believe it!!! I just hope that everything goes well and that we have a healthy, happy baby!!
I hope to post pics as I start to show
